Where do you see yourself at DLM?

Investment Research

Do you crave intellectual stimulation? Would you like to shape people’s thinking on the companies, industries and markets that matter? If the answer is yes, then you could be the person to join our research team.

DLM’s research analysts have a high profile at DLM. They monitor and analyse companies, markets and economic trends –  they also alert our traders, salespeople and clients towards potential investment opportunities.

Because we invest a premium on knowledge, resources from our Research function are used by all business divisions within DLM. Private clients of our asset management businesses depend on insights from our analysts to get the best from their portfolios, while research reports inform the investment decisions made by our Global Asset Management business in addition to using their views to influence DLM’s sales and trading activities.

What we’re looking for
Research analysts should be natural intellectuals who are able to combine creativity with strategic and logical thinking.

Numerical modeling, report writing and analytical problem solving are a key part of required skills for the job.  Most of our  talents have degrees in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics or physical sciences. However, your degree discipline is not a barrier to entry as training is also given to new recruits.

Being a research analyst is not just about having great ideas – you’ll also need the skills and self-confidence to sell those ideas to your colleagues and clients. As well as having excellent presentation skills, you must be an exceptional writer. Research is a highly competitive field, so hard work and dedication is essential.

What we can offer you
When you join our graduate program as a junior analyst, you can expect continuous training and career development from the outset.
As an important member of a high-profile team, you’ll be supporting senior analysts at different stages of the research process. You can build a network of contacts throughout the financial industry as you share your ideas with colleagues and clients.

We hire graduates in the following positions

Graduate Trainee / Internship (for fresh graduates with one or two years’ experience)

What we do
As the main contact point for many of our clients, sales people are absolutely pivotal to DLM’s business. Employees in Sales spend their day talking to investors at major financial institutions, such as pension funds, hedge funds, insurance companies and banks. Such clients rely on them for essential insights into investment opportunities, and ideas for trading in particular markets.
How do our sales people source the information clients need if they are to maximize their investment returns? By working closely with colleagues in DLM’s research, origination and trading teams.

What we’re looking for
Building rapport with clients is a big part of the job, so you’ll need to be a natural relationship builder. You’ll also need the intelligence and intuition to understand your clients’ particular needs and investment styles, the communication skills to sell clients’ great ideas and the initiative to spot as well as act on a great opportunity when you see one.

You should also be a real team player, because you’ll be collaborating with colleagues in research, origination and trading every day.

What we can offer you
When you join our graduate program, you’ll be learning from day one. You’ll also have a chance to network with colleagues across the firm, giving you contacts that can help build your career.
